Beyond this poor area of the city was the busy port where there were urgent preparations being finalised before tonight’s big parade.  Today was the culmination of a six-day festival in honour of the City’s patron saint, Saint Rosalia, who, according to legend, saved the City from a terrible plague in the seventeenth century.

  1. The Sicily is a wonderful island in Italy, Europe characterized by its varied landscape, beautiful scenery and sightseeing attractions. It has numerous places to see and visit.

    The ancient architectural sites are so impressive and magnificent. The Mount Etna, Ustica, Agrigento, Val di Noto, Taormina and Palermo have great historic attractions for visitors.
