I agree with you, I went there a couple of years ago and was very impressed. The new one is ok, I remember going there on a school visit shortly after it opened.
I like the old architecture. It had a different kind of presence from modern. It wasn’t shiny but gave the impression of solidity and hard work.

I actually think Coventry cathedral ruins are beautiful, if ruins can be beautiful. Not too fussed with the ‘new’ one.
