I led people on along Stadhouderskade before crossing through a small public park and into Weteringschans and around the next corner was my objective.   As we turned in the others all sympathised with me that we hadn’t found the Reguliersgracht and what a shame this was but, quite by chance, this was perfect timing because here was my opportunity to say ‘Da Da!’ and throw open my arms in theatrical style to introduce them to the prettiest canal in Amsterdam!

  5. Ah the colourful facades, bather my eyes once more 😀 just superb – perhaps in one of my previous lives I lived among such houses – I just love them!

    • In the UK we don’t have the colours that other countries seem comfortable with – it’s a shame!

      • Whenever I see colourful facades I always imagine the person painting them – there’s much more emotional involvement with the actual painting of colourful facades than painting them the “usual” colours of white, cream, light-grey … I think
