These lovely textures are all so different and I wonder what the third one might be. If it be mud, what makes the texture?

It is just silty mud shortly after the tide went out.

I forgot how far you are away from the ocean. In the UK no one lives more than 70 miles from the sea and for us it is about 3.

Well I may have the mountains but I admit to a terrible case of ocean envy at the moment.

We have no mountains, not even a hill and the North Sea isn’t all that thrilling!
