Knobs and Knockers…
This reminded me of a friend that I once worked with. She was restoring a Welsh dresser and using the work internet service she searched on knobs and knockers. She got some very unexpected results and had a lot of explaining to do to the IT department!
I thought about that before I even read your text! 😀

Oh I wonder what your Google search terms might show in the near future Andrew? I love taking photos of unique door knockers too by the way. These are great.

The shock factor – I’ll let you know! Thee is such great detail in this door furniture. I haven’t even got a knocker on my door if someone wants to attract my attention then they have to rattle the letter box or tap on the glass!

Pretty rare to see door knockers here too. Perhaps that’s why they intrigue me. 🙂

And a true story. Eventually the IT department accepted her explanation and everyone found the story amusing. No one did that search again though!

I’ve just tried that search myself. Most disappointing. Some fantastic knockers though, if you ever decide you need any.

A man after my own heart. I love photographing door knockers and doors in general. I find them so interesting. Looks like you have the makings of a coffee table book!

Sounds a bit like me getting in trouble with my Auntie Beryl when I told her to search for the recipe for Spotted Dick on the internet. The Silver Surfer Group she had lessons with every week had quite a bit of a shock.

When I was in Malta, I loved seeing the variety of door knockers both on doors and for sale in local shops.
