Jacques Majorelle was an avid plant collector but after he died in 1962 the house was left empty and the garden abandoned for nearly twenty years. After a long period of neglect it was then taken over and restored by the fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent.

What a fabulous burst of colours in those pots and painted concrete – I wonder how often one might need to repaint them 😀
