That lead one with the sheep hanging on the laundry line is fabulous! Did you pick one up for me? 🙂

Those sheep postcards can be bought all over the UK. I was in Yorkshire last week and they were in the shops there!

We had holidays in Rhyl, Llandudno and Colwyn Bay when I was a kid. The battlements of Conway Castle were very, very high up, I seem to rememeber, and in those days the road round the Great Orme was two way with no barrier between you and the distant grey sea. I love the sunrise postcard.

My parents had a preference for mid Wales and this has always stuck with me. I remember going to Llandudno one time and walking the Great Orme. The sunrise picture is Castell-y-Bere near Tal-y-Llyn Lake.

Do you know the old song “Ghost Riders in the Sky?” Andrew. The scary sheep remind me of it. I always used to make my Grandfather play it for me when I was around 5-6. –Curt

Do I remember it! Which version was your favourite? In UK it was mostly Frankie Laine, but my favourite Frankie Laine was always ‘Rahwhide’. My favourite ‘Ghost Riders’ was the instrumental version by ‘The Shadows’ – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7_Gxoa2lqk

Great version, Andrew. I cut my eye teeth on Sons of the Pioneers who had come out with their cover in the late 40s. It was one of several songs by the Sons of the Pioneers on my grandfather’s record. It also included Cool Water and Tumbling Tumbleweeds. –Curt
