I need to see more of northern Spain. Have done a lot of the middle and the south, but not much in the north.

I’d love to here what the football crowd at Gijon shout. Presumably, it’s ‘Hi-hon, hi-hon, hi-hon, hi-hon’ like an escaped ambulance?

  Interestingly I once visited San Sebastian and ran into a Rugby European Cup Semi-Final between Biarritz and Muster. I was surprised by that but research taught me that Biarritz considers itself to be the National Team of the Basques. Another consideration is that the stadium there is bigger so they can sell more tickets!

I always love your postcards and these ones don’t disappoint. I really must get back to Northern Spain one day but the trouble is as I get older mu bones demand sunshine and heat, so I drift southwards again. Thanks for reminding me of how lovely this part of Spain is.

    She’d need to move a few more times 🙂 🙂 I have a blogger in Israel who’s going to Barcelona with her family for 5 days and then wants a week in nearby Spain that would suit her teenage boys. I’ve suggested Majorca/Costa Brava but am referring her to you for expert help. She also mentioned Pyrenees. I’d love to go but don’t know much about (story of my life 🙂 ) Cheers!

    From Barcelona it has to be north to the Costa Brava – Girona, Figueres (Dali) and lots of good seaside resorts all along the coast.
