Delightful.
The Title of your web page reminds me of when the War Office and I go off on holidays

A few others have used it. I have discovered a page on Pinterest but it really is about bags so not at all interesting and a travel agency in the USA. Someone has used it on Facebook and on Trip Advisor. Maybe I should buy the domain. I have got another blog called ‘Another Bag, More Travel’ but that is where I archive old posts.

You’re really into old bags aren’t you?

Hi Andrew, after a while, I know. My blogging has gone by the wayside, but I’m still struggling on through life.
It’s a curious fact of travel that other people’s washing is always photogenic, while your own socks and undies are not interesting in the slightest.

Nice to see you Richard. I keep furiously posting away!
In Lisbon recently we stayed in an apartment and outside the bathroom window was one of those washing lines with a pulley system and the washing hangs out over the street. I have always wanted one of those so washed some clothes just for the sake of it, used it and took a picture!

That’s what I call initiative! 🙂 🙂 Where next, Andrew? You still have Maltese adventures to post?

Hi Jo, wouldn’t you just love a clothes line like that?
I have some new stories from Malta but I haven’t got through Portugal yet, still have to report back on Coimbra, Ovar, Porto, Guimaraes and Braga. I’ve got enough material for an entire Travel Agent’s conference!
Are you still in Portugal?

I would! Yes-here till 17th. Sitting looking at the boats with a coffee. Too early for wine x

If you were in Spain you would be an hour ahead and lunch time already!

Michael likes your thinking but I’ve told him it only applies to people who get up early. 🙂 🙂

It’s a beautiful capture, and a common one in Portugal, isn’t it? We see the same in Italy.
The colors make the photo more special. I once shot a washing line while passing through a village in Holland, but saw only black and white socks and undies.

Would you believe we have some gated communities here that don’t allow clothes lines? There are the places where they have an entrance gate with security guards and lots and lots of rules about where you can park, or what sort of landscaping you can have. I find this sort of thing to be utterly appalling.

I suppose if people choose to live there then they agree with the rules?

True, but I couldn’t see living like that. Too many rules.
