It is a fascinating day in the world of politics Brian.
Sadly the Tory Party puts its own interests ahead of the electorate and the country. Best thing that could happen is that they finally split in two and save us all the anguish of their irreconcilable divisions over Europe.
As a working man I cannot understand why so many people vote for them anyway. They only govern in the interests of the few!
I just cannot believe the cancellation of the vote today. By the way, not on BBC etc but I believe that Belgium’s coalition government has collapsed today! France next?
Take your pick, this was entirely predictable for lots of different reasons. Daughter had serious conversation with me last week about leaving the UK. She works for the mammoth GE with her HQ in New York
The sun set on Britain, for me, when we declared war on Germany in 1914. It’s been downhill since then, until we have a parliament nowadays with absolutely no idea of putting the nation before their own selfish interests. Lovely sunset, by the way, but who’s making their getaway in that jet?
Quite right John, The Tories are hopelessly split but won’t do the right thing and split. Jeremy Corbyn sniffs a General Election and pursues this to his own advantage!
The very argument that is made here. The flaw in the argument is that this was no different from any election or referendum anywhere in the World so why make an exception in this case!
I haven’t kept up with our troubles over here much (far too depressing), much less keep up with what you folks are up to. None of it seems at all hopeful.
I’m tempted to say that the sun is setting on Britain!

A momentous day perhaps. 1789. 1830, 1848, 1968. Who knows?

Nice sunset, and interesting discussion on politics. Sometimes I feel a bout of despair coming on.

It is true to say that we are in a bit of bother over here at the moment, Government is in a sort of lockdown over the EU issue!

I rather enjoy watching politicians getting a hard time!

I suppose that could be a bit of compensation if only they didn’t make such a mess of things for the rest of us.

With that vapour trail I’d say it was an RAF aircraft flying really high, commercial aircraft don’t fly high enough to leave them
