Having Germans in the family , Berlin is a city without soul only for the politicians!
Germans are more practical.
Of all the places that I have written about Berlin gets the most negative comments about not wishing to go there. What a shame!

What fabulous light, and beautifully captured.
Thank Stella. The weather forecast promised rain all day but we got the blue skies instead.
I do need to visit Berlin.. My son loved it.. 😉
Some wonderful photos. I would certainly visit Berlin, have never been there but any city with so much history would be worth a visit.
It took me years to finally get around to visiting Berlin and now I am glad that I did.
It makes it twice as lovely and exciting doesn’t it Andrew 🙂
Indeed. Thank you and Happy New Year!
I loved that clock tower. The architecture you show is so very different from what I have seen elsewhere. Best wishes for next year Andrew.
A city of contrasts for sure.
A Happy New Year to you too . I have been watching the fires on the late news – how dreadful!
And there’s more to come. A young fireman was killed a short time ago when a massive wind gust turned the firetruck over.
We enjoyed Charlottenburg and the palace there too 🙂
I liked Charlottenburg but was unmoved by Spandau.
We didn’t do the Spandau Prison Tour – couldn’t fit everything in, even in a couple of trips! Just went to Charlottemburg and had lunch in a nearby square, which was delicious!
I didn’t go the prison, only to the fortress which was rather lacking in anything of real interest.
Will make a mental note of that – may be back in Berlin towards the end of this year.
