“only in Ireland” is a common phrase in the Emerald Isle and it seems to me that this collection of doors illustrates that rather well. My favourite is the Post Office with the gas cylinders stored right next to the petrol pump…
Thursday Doors is a weekly feature allowing door lovers to come together to admire and share their favourite door photos from around the world. Feel free to join in the fun by creating your own Thursday Doors post each week and then sharing your link in the comments’ on Norm’s site, anytime between Thursday morning and Saturday noon (North American Eastern Time).
Love the names of those shops!

They are good aren’t they. In Ireland the owners name is always prominent.

Oh, not just in Ireland! Where else in France do you buy your gas bottle but at the petrol station? Funnily enough, till you pointed it out, I never found it odd.

In England too I suppose but it is usually appropriately secured.

I love these! I was trying to work out what else the ‘Angel’ shop sold besides angels. You would never get a shop like that in England, would you? I’ve never understood the Catholic need to display religion.

I think it is a souvenir shop. Bric-a-Brac and tat.

A gas-stationed post office?? Yes, that’s rare, I guess. 🙂

It is most likely a mini-market and a pub as well.

Ireland remains in my mind as a place dominated by green, so these bright colors are just wonderful. In France also gas and petrol are usually quite close; nothing like it in the States. I’d like to see an apostrophe in Mother Hubbard’s and I’d love to visit the cheese shop.
