Even though travel restrictions are easing I am not yet minded to risk it so I still have no new stories to post so I continue to go through my picture archives and see where I was on this day at any time in the last few travelling years.
On 1st December 2006 I was in the Polish city of Krakow visiting the Christmas Market…
I recorded no story because this was so long ago it was even before I started to write my blog.
I did buy this rather nice chess set in the indoor Christmas market…
A great tangible memory. Do you play chess? Or like my husband, are you stuck by having no regular partner?

Ah, Krakow. I first visited for work (the US company I worked for bought up a small Polish company based there). Took me several years to get back there as a tourist and your photos bring back happy memories of that trip. Thank you! That was a brilliant post to read at a time when we would normally be away somewhere for a long Winter weekend. If all we can do is travel vicariously, then it’s good to do it in your company!

Thank you Stella. I was reading a newspaper article earlier about changes to travel after Brexit and none of them for the better.

Which is not surprising… it’s been on the cards since 2016. That’s what happens when people insist on leaving a club; they don’t get to enjoy the facilities any longer.

I have never been able to play chess! Draughts is more than enough for me.

Another one that’s on my list. When will I get to visit it, I wonder, as I long to revisit my favourites now that it’s been nearly a year since I’ve been anywhere. I’m longing for the warmth of Italy or Spain so I think Krakow will go n the back boiler and I just hope I survive long enough to get there one day!

I fear that travel won’t be quite the same for some time thanks to Covid and BREXIT.
