I was nominated by my friend Derrick Knight to post one favourite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then to nominate someone else to participate. That’s 10 days, 10 travel pictures, and 10 nominations. I may not make it to the end of ten days, but for now I nominate my friend Anabel, The Glasgow Gallivanter,
Please link to me so I know you have participated. If you are not interested, no problem.
Nowhere in the rules does it say you can’t guess where the photo was taken.
Hint – Atlantic storm.
Yes, but aren’t they having fun? 🙂 🙂

Humph. Looks like the North Sea to me. A great blustery day.

Well, I guessed as much since you said Atlantic. But still northern?

No not the North this time.

I am guessing the East coast of Yorkshire, but it also has a European look to it.
My apologies, i am backing out of the travel challenge. My old photo files are on my old computer that is in Joss’s bedroom. Right now I can’t go into that room. It’s in quarantine this week!

So you’ve done Cornwall as well?

This one is Mevagissey Derrick.
Cornwall is a long drive from Grimsby – 8 hours or so.

Thanks a lot, Andrew. We drove to Mousehole from Newark – a little less, I guess

Thanks Emilio, I am obviously taking this challenge thing way too seriously. Do you want to be nominated?

I don’t have a problem being nominated, but I don’t do the nomination bit because these things have the ring of a chain letter . . . and I always break the chain. Meaning, posting a travel photo a day is no problem, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable nominating anyone, and hence, it wouldn’t fit the spirit of the challenge
So, the answer is . . . it’s probably better that you don’t. However, you’ve given me an idea for a “where in the world” effort.

I thought that you might say that.

I forgot to mention that I appreciate the thought . . . but, unlike Oscar contenders, I won’t say “it’s just nice to be nominated”.

I’m posting, but not nominating so I don’t see that being a problem. Most of the bloggers I know are already taking part.

Oh, I’ll do something like it (and credit Andrew for the inspiration, linking to his first photo).
And I’ll strip the identifiers . . . although my photos seldom have any.

Photo identifiers are easy cheats but nearly as easy is to just Google the blogger and scroll through their images. Simple and nearly always works.

Have you seen the number of photos I post? I pity the fool who tackles scrolling through my photos.
Plus, I’m not sure what you would search for because when I search on the blog name, I get all manner of additional stuff that’s not mine. Same for my email, my name, etc.
Now, I suppose people could go to my SmugMug, but, again . . . thousands of photos, and the search function isn’t helpful.
. . . plus, now that you mentioned it, I’ll only post unpublished favorite photos . . . OK, I won’t, but I still think it would be difficult finding matches by searching.
Now, if you used Tineye or something like it, maybe.

Ah . . . you know about Google “search by image option” . . . I’ll have to find images that it cannot identify . . . like this (and I know it’s a cemetery, but where?)
By the way, if you find the location, I’d be interested in how you did it.
