The Vikings seem to have been rehabilitated but I remember a lecture at university where they were called one of the greatest threats to civilisation ever.
A most enjoyable set of images. I don’t think you can find anyone who has not heard at least some of the history, lore and legends of the Vikings. Can’t say that about lots of groups.
My Yorkshire hubby is definitely from Viking stock and his motorcycle nickname is Viking. When he had his own business he called it Jorvik Enterprises and our boat was called Jorvik with a huge Viking sword painted on the side. I would love to go to Norway or Sweden one day. (But in the summer)
If you come from east of England there is a good chance of having some Viking heritage, Places that end with by such as Grimsby mean there was once a viking settlement.
The wild side of Europe, those vikings lol!!!

While mentioning my Scottish heritage, my Viking-looking northern Norwegian friend commented, “You can thank the Vikings for the Scots good looks.”
