Monday Washing Lines – Alghero in Sardinia

Welcome to my latest theme. Monday Washing Lines.

This was a very windy day in Alghero in Sardinia…

…the next morning, the night after the cyclone,  when we opened the shutters of the room and looked out into the storm battered streets Alghero looked rather damp, drenched, soggy and windswept, forlorn and feeling rather sorry for itself…

It is a Challenge, do feel free to join in…

  1. Lovely idea but I don’t think I’ve ever taken photos of washing lines!

  2. A fun idea, Andrew, and I’ll join you, but maybe not this week – exhausted after Squares, and I suspect my readers may need a break too 😉

  3. I have to have matching pairs of pegs that don’t clash with the garment. Sad, isn’t it? 🙂 🙂 I may well join you on this, Andrew, even if it’s only to include some on my walks. It’s a good idea. Have a nice week!

  4. We are all odd, aren’t we. I am just pleased to find enough pegs to use as they break so easily. Colours don’t matter, or sizes, so I wouldn’t fit into your households, Jo and Andrew, you would hate my casual attitude to hanging out my washing.

  5. This is a great idea, and the comments are a joy. I’m afraid I use an indoor drying rack and my pegs are more likely to be found holding bags of flour closed.

  6. Why not! From my years of following you Andrew, I know you’ve got a bunch. My first thought was I hope everyone had taken in their laundry before the cyclone. Otherwise, it would have been ‘by, by baby!’ I remember how we used to dash outside in Africa yanking our clothes off the line when we could hear the storm roaring through the jungle toward our home! –Curt
