Welcome to my latest theme. Monday Washing Lines.
This was a very windy day in Alghero in Sardinia…
…the next morning, the night after the cyclone, when we opened the shutters of the room and looked out into the storm battered streets Alghero looked rather damp, drenched, soggy and windswept, forlorn and feeling rather sorry for itself…
It is a Challenge, do feel free to join in…
Lovely idea but I don’t think I’ve ever taken photos of washing lines!

Sheree, you don’t know what you’re missing! They’re fun. Look out for my friend in France who colour codes her washing line 😉

I like to colour match pegs to washing.

That’s even more anal than my friend! So you only have mauve, yellow, pink, baby blue and white washing? 😉

I have got enough coloured pegs to cover all the bases.

I love the idea of a colour coded line! I suppose it’s because I have never, ever hung out washing.

Nothing beats the smell of fresh Mediterranean laundry.

Sheree, it’s one of life’s simple pleasures, even on a cold day like this. There’s nothing better than the smell of line-dried washing, and it costs nothing too. Oops! The price of the pegs ;). And in southern France, what could be easier?

Except I live in an apartment where we’re forbidden to hang out laundry!

Such a shame especially in the country of Liberty and all that…

A fun idea, Andrew, and I’ll join you, but maybe not this week – exhausted after Squares, and I suspect my readers may need a break too 😉

I have to have matching pairs of pegs that don’t clash with the garment. Sad, isn’t it? 🙂 🙂 I may well join you on this, Andrew, even if it’s only to include some on my walks. It’s a good idea. Have a nice week!

Matching pegs are essential. It took me ages to get Kim to agree but we are as one now on the matter!

I remember a visiting friend watched in wonder as I pegged the washing out. Don’t some folk have strange habits? 🤔💕

Standards are important. Same happened to me a couple of years ago in Corfu. On holiday with friends she was pegging out towels with odd pegs. I was horrified!

We are all odd, aren’t we. I am just pleased to find enough pegs to use as they break so easily. Colours don’t matter, or sizes, so I wouldn’t fit into your households, Jo and Andrew, you would hate my casual attitude to hanging out my washing.

Shocked!
Pegging out discipline is so important.
I could do with some black pegs but they are difficult to find!

I’ll keep an eye open for some for you. I’ve got a few large navy-blue ones that came with a drying frame but I’ve never seen black.

Very hard to find. I keep looking!

They’d hate mine too Mari 😂

This is a great idea, and the comments are a joy. I’m afraid I use an indoor drying rack and my pegs are more likely to be found holding bags of flour closed.

That is what I call peg misuse!

But very effective!

Why not! From my years of following you Andrew, I know you’ve got a bunch. My first thought was I hope everyone had taken in their laundry before the cyclone. Otherwise, it would have been ‘by, by baby!’ I remember how we used to dash outside in Africa yanking our clothes off the line when we could hear the storm roaring through the jungle toward our home! –Curt
