The Gaudi attractions can be frustrating to photograph because of the crowds and Casa Batlló is no exception so I gave up after a while and concentrated on detail where people couldn’t get in the way…

I am inclined to agree. I always say that Sagrada Familia is a theme park and not a church.

Wonderful selections – a good thing people got in the way

Thank you John. You see a lot of people trying to photograph the rooms but it pointless.

Looking up often gives fab shots as yours prove. Glad you were not unlucky enough to have Spider-Man with you at the time!

That would have been a capture for sure.

It is mostly impossible to photograph the rooms Sue but the detail is easy.

A great idea that provided rich results. We still haven’t been, because of the crowds. With Emily living there, there’s always tomorrow. And perhaps, post-pandemic, tomorrow will finally arrive.

I imagined it difficult to visit without pre -booking but we pitched up and waited no longer than 20 minutes.

But as you say, once inside it was elbows-at-dawn. It always looked that way when we passed anyway.

It is a bit of a crush. Have you been to Palau de la Musica? Visiting is so much easier with controlled numbers in accompanied groups.

Gorgeous details Andrew. Sometimes the best way to capture the essence. We didn’t bother going inside this one.

For me it is one of the best just too many people. Have you been to Palau de la Musica? As good as anything Gaudi and controlled group visiting.

We didn’t have time for that either. So much to see in Barcelona, one short visit is not enough.

Must go back!

Maybe. Though I’m not a person who often returns to a place, no matter how much I love them. So many other places to explore. So little time.

That is true but I confess that I am a returner!

I know what you mean! Part of the joy of this last year has been wandering around places devoid of tourists. It’s not sustainable but nice for the moment.

We never get tourists in Grimsby!

I’ve never visited so can’t comment though it rather reinforces your point.

Thanks Anabel. Have you been there?

No! We thought about it years and years ago, and then it got really popular and we were a bit put off. But we really must go, some day, if it ever becomes possible again.

Low cost travel had made everywhere popular Anabel. We shall see what happens next.

I always think details are fascinating, Andrew, and a worthy subject for photography. I came across my photos of Sagrada Familia last night, BTW, and was reminded of how fascinating the cathedral is. Lots of details! –Curt

Will you post them?

I could. I think it’s been a long time since I did. When I was looking through them the other day, I was struck by the statues. It would make a fun post. –Curt
