Welcome to my latest theme. Monday Washing Lines.
This was spotted on a Gondola ride on the canals of Venice…
Good pegging out, all one colour which saves worrying about matching pegs to washing. Being slightly critical, I wouldn’t hang stripes next to spots and I would have hung the spotted pillow case next to the matching sheet, but that’s just me.
At water level there was a completely different perspective to the buildings and here we could see the exposed brickwork and the crumbling pastel coloured stucco, sun blistered and frost picked and giving in to the constant assault of the waters of the lagoon as it gnaws and gouges its relentless way into the fabric of the buildings.
It is a challenge, do feel free to join in…

I’d almost certainly drop something in the canal, Andrew, which would be a bigger concern than how it was pegged. 🙂 🙂 Joining you this week. If you right click on individual shots you can check the details.

When it comes to hanging out the washing, I am just as fussy as you, Andrew. Everything has to be in the right place, whites at one end (washed separately), then colour coded, and all the while aiming for longer items in the middle and shorter items at the edge. It’s almost like a game, a task I set myself to get it just right. Not unlike stacking the dishwasher. 😀

Hanging a washing line should be an Olympic sporting event. Sounds like you would be a cert for the gold medal.

I am very competitive when comes to laundry. When we lived on a street I used to get up extra early to be the first to hang out the washing. We had Terry nappies back then and I went to great lengths to make sure mine were extra white! Looking back I blame the TV commercials for that. 😂

Always a bucket of Napisan in the kitchen or bathroom.

It’s a lot of fun simply trawling through the comments! There are some serious laundry people out there! My pingback doesn’t appear to have appeared (!) but I have found another Venetian one for you today Andrew. With a modern twist…

I am very keen on symmetry and things being just so, but I cannot compete with the idea of matching pegs to washing.
