Malta is the most religious country in Europe…
…it has more religious public holidays than any other in Europe and 10th February is especially important because this is the The Feast of St Paul’s Shipwreck which was bad luck for Paul but good fortune for Malta because it brought Paul to the island in the year 60AD and he then went promptly about converting the island to Christianity.
I remember this one, Andrew. It’s not every day one gets shipwrecked in St. Paul’s Bay. Thankfully!

Not keen on Paul, I have to say. I remember a fruitless argument with some Jehovah’s Witnesses about his views on women c 1982. Couldn’t be bothered these days!

I think that comment requires an explanation.

Wives should be subordinate to their husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is head of his wife just as Christ is head of the Church, he himself the savior of the body. As the Church is subordinate to Christ, so wives should be subordinate to their husbands in everything.
Ask Kim what she thinks of that!

I remember when we visited Malta in June 2013 it was the Feast of St Peter and St Paul – we saw part of the celebrations when we walked around Rabat. So, actually St Paul’s Bay should be renamed St Paul & Andrew’s Bay 😉.

Yes, I think so too. thanks.
I live in a village in Lincolnshire called Healing. It only has a small church but it is dedicated to both St Peter and St Paul.
