Even though travel restrictions are easing I am not yet minded to risk it so I still have no new stories to post so I continue to go through my picture archives and see where I was on this day at any time in the last few travelling years.
In October 1977 I was in Benidorm on the Costa Blanca in Spain. I know that it was October but to be honest I cannot be entirely specific about the date so I have just chosen one at random.
Well the sea is always wonderful but that is a super second home of the Brits lol!!!

Andrew your post made me chuckle several times, memories of how it was back then. The first time I flew to Spain (age probably 14 or so) my Dad made me wear shirt, tie and jacket. And so did all other males on the flight. Can you imagine that now!?

My first flight ever was with my dad in 1976 to Sorrento. He wore a tie on board and every night for dinner in the hotel.

Andrew, why is it that on English comedy TV shows Benidorm is always worth a laugh?

It has a reputation for being tacky and attracting a certain type of holidaymaker, Brits who like large volumes of beer and insist on a full English breakfast.

OK. Got it. And do they always get a full English breakfast at home?
