“I feel very adventurous. There are so many doors to be opened, and I’m not afraid to look behind them.”

I am always looking out for doors and windows to photograph and Syracuse did not disappoint…

I do like doors, I really like doors, especially old doors, I speculate about their history, who passed through them and what stories they have to tell…
A great collection, and even including a nicely thought-out washing line 😉

It is a good washing line, I like that he/she has done a classic colour wash. Pegging could be better.

It could, but marks for effort. Could survive into the finals?

It certainly stands a chance.

Wasn’t there a 1970s pop star who used to sing about “the green door”? I can’#t put na name to him, though.

That would be Shakin’ Stevens.

That reminds me of a (bit of a) joke. It was the pronouncement that anybody who thought that Shakin’ Stevens was a ludicrous nickname has obviously never stood next to him at the urinals.

And Frankie Vaughan sang the original in 1956.

Number 7 is magnificent. Nice collection, Andrew. Reminds me, I found a couple of good ones in Loule yesterday. Off to look at my gallery 😍

Must be a shortage of painter and decorators over there.

It would take an exceptional craftsman to put them right.

Posts like this had me thinking. I see old and attractive doors all the time when I travel and I do a double take when I see them. I did take some photographs of doors when I was at San Gimignano. Maybe I should start taking more photographs of doors too.
