Upon my return from Naples I thought I might update my map of places that I have visited in Italy.

What a lovely way to commemorate your visits. Pity I couldn’t enlarge the image to see the smaller photos.

I have noticed an inconsistency with WP. Sometimes the pictures can be opened and sometimes not!

Seems like quite a few ‘inconsistencies’ to me! What a pity! ☹️

But you could do a postcard journey of Portugal!

I could, but I’d rather fill in some gaps in my Italian education. 🙂 🙂 Have you been to any of the Lakes? I’ve done Garda top and bottom, Como/Lugano and Maggiore. You have a preference for the cities?

Flying to Milan in September and will have a couple of days at Como and then on to the cities.

Quite a few more than me, specifically Florence is a big gap for us, not sure if we’ll make it now! I did think of doing this for France once, but I almost covered the whole map! Spain would be a good one, most of mine though would be in the bottom half except for Madrid. By the way I can’t get the photos to open either so I assume the red dots are the places visited?

Odd about the picture thing, I have noticed it before. Red dots are just red dots, the pictures are the places I have visited. I need to do Florence again. This year we fly to Milan and do the central cities by train. My Spain map is very congested so will do it by region instead.

I’ve always liked the idea of a Grand Tour, the type that people used to take once upon a time as part of their education (at least for the wealthy). I had to rely on books. Now I get out and about a bit. 🙂 But I still find your travels, Andrew, and those of my other blogging friends, to be both amusing and instructive. May you continue to wander. –Curt

I love the idea of building up your own Nativity and collecting the figures over time. I didn’t know that was a tradition in Naples. I am making my own figures out of crochet and will need a stable soon. Very interesting post. Thank you.
