I am rediscovering how good it is to be away on holiday in England!

Just scrolled back a view posts and see that you’re actually there now. Skipsea would not be everyone’s choice of destination, which goes to show one can enjoy a holiday anywhere, even a well-travelled international man of leisure like you.

I would actually consider living in Skipsea!

Weather is always a factor in the UK Curt! Dealing with the weather is what made the British Empire!
These days traffic is also a challenge.
And then there is coastal erosion of course.

Ha. Searching for kinder weather, eh! Traffic. Boy I couldn’t agree more. We finally moved to a place where we can often drive the last 13 miles to our home without meeting a car at night. 🙂 Erosion will just sort of do its thing as it has for the past 4 billion years. Forest fires are our big worry here. –Curt

Forest fires are not a big issue for us in the east of England Curt!

No drought there! Eh. 🙂

Although the east coast is generally the driest area of the UK we can still rely on a good drop of rain!

We had a quarter of an inch here a couple of weeks ago, Andrew. It is the first August rain I can recall since we moved here nine years ago.

Raining here right now Curt. I am going to Scotland next week, it is certain to rain there. Such a good job that I have got webbed feet!

Laughing. Oregonians are supposed to have webbed feet as well, Andrew. If I lived a bit father north like in Eugene or Portland or anywhere along the coast, I’d get to experience more of your weather!

Nothing like a cornfield, especially if there are any grasshoppers or butterflies.
A lovely first and a lovely last photograph, incidentally. I wish I were that age again!

That age when you were that age or that age now? Big difference!
I was trying to recreate an old fashioned family holiday as I remembered them, a caravan, beach, ice cream, fish and chips, country walks and churches. I think they enjoyed it but they also missed the internet and so did I!

Can’t beat a cliff top and a corn field, Andrew. The ladies are looking good ☺💕

AGGGHHHH! Ryanair, so glad that we are flying Easyjet. Where are you in UK?

Leeds currently. We do a quick trip to Nottingham on Sunday then return Wednesday to fly back. Strike’s due 22nd. James and partner are flying to Barcelona on 21st for 5 nights. Hopefully they’ll make it out. Delayed back isn’t so bad 😕
