Your photos are always gorgeous and evocative. The door-knockers remind me of Malta, where they adorn nearly every home with creative and unusual designs.

I like doors. Each one hides secret lives. These are wonderful. I especially like the last one, the blue and the one before it with the hand.

Thanks. Blue doors are normally associated with Greece rather than Spain where the widespread use comes from an ancient belief that the sky-blue shade of turquoise has the power to keep evil away. It is believed that the radiation of the colour composes a sort of invisible shield, which prevents the approach of bad spirits.
The Amish in Pennsylvania also have blue doors for the same reason (apparently)

wow, never knew that, have always loved old doors, frequent photo focus when travelling. I paint them now too, and especially blue ( I mean pictures of them! My actual house doors are all red. I wonder why that is?) I’m a novice blogger, really like your travel notes, thanks
