Last time out I was in Berlin in Germany and was surprised to find so few grand statues. Not so in Madrid which was my next destination.

I was about 40 years too late! The last statue of Franco in mainland Spain was in Santander and was removed in 2008.

A grand city have you been there?
Remind me please of your Bridlington beach recommendation. I am taking my grandchildren to Skipsea Sands caravan park for a few days during the school holidays.

Not been no. South shore beach YO15 3QN hopefully that is correct. The south shore holiday village is set back at the rear of the car park. We used to access from town but now the new road takes you almost into the caravan park and comes out in the big car park next to the boat club. Buses into Bridlington are frequent the bus fare is included in car park fee. There’s a small cafe next to the car park plus a toilet block. and also another cafe further along the beach. I particularly like the water tap near the beach huts, always our last stop for rinsing sand off kids’ feet and buckets and spades before getting back in the car. Like I said before, this isn’t Cornwall but it has the best beach for making sandcastles! And the tide does not come all the way in.
Oh and there’s the rock factory at Carnaby, kids love watching the rock being made. My son once had his birthday party there, we hired a mini bus for the day, booked our visit to the rock factory and all the kids made rock! We also took a giant sized picnic and took them all to the beach. Best birthday party ever!
Now I sound like an advert for the Bridlington tourist board!

Beautiful photos. I love your framing, particularly that of the bullfighter and bull.
